NCG’s nationwide portfolio of businesses includes seven colleges and two training providers. Working with over 40,000 learners every year and 7,800 external businesses, we operate in 61 locations across the UK.

Colleges

NCG has seven colleges across the UK, each with a strong local economic impact. Our colleges offer a wide variety of courses from basic skills to Masters degrees, working in partnership with employers and businesses to create employment opportunities for thousands of people every year. We are also an education partner of Ada, the national College for Digital Skills and have representation on the shadow governing body.

Carlisle College

Carlisle College is a further education College serving the post 16 education and training needs of Carlisle and the surrounding area. The College, located in Carlisle City Centre has more than 2,700 students enrolled each year. Thier mission is to be recognised as an outstanding and inclusive College providing life changing skills and experiences.

Carlisle College offers an extensive range of further and higher education, professional qualifications, apprenticeships and community programmes, from entry level to Foundation Degrees.

With over £30 million investment in recent years, the new facilities include state of the art equipment and resources, which significantly expands our modern campus into a real learning community to support progression into further study or employment.

The Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) is now open at a cost of £900k, to deliver an employer led curriculum at all levels in the engineering, manufacturing and processing sectors.

Kidderminster College

Kidderminster College is a successful general further education college with more than 4,500 students enrolled each year. The College achieves excellent success rates, with the current figures of 86.9% above the national average of 83.6% according to the Skills Funding Agency’s latest report.

The College has invested £2.5m in improving facilities, including the opening of The Point – a new £100,000 jobs hub. The Point is designed to support people into employment or help them move on in their careers, as well as offering employers opportunities to up-skill their workforce, train staff or recruit an apprentice.

The College has a strong Creative Industries department and, as well as their own dance company, Kidderminster College also operates its own record label.

Newcastle College

Newcastle College serves around 18,000 learners every year and, as well as their main facility in the heart of the city, also has nine satellite sites and four community outreach venues across the North East.

The College has over 100 full-time vocational courses on offer to those aged 16-18 and more than 300 part-time, evening, daytime and evening courses available to anyone looking to learn something new. 

In 2015, Newcastle College was named FE College of the Year at the ‘Educate North Awards’, sponsored by the Telegraph and was awarded the Student Experience Award in 2016. The College also boasts Beacon College status as well as holding a Matrix award.

Newcastle Sixth Form College

Newcastle Sixth Form College is an aspirational and inclusive community dedicated to helping young people fulfil their potential. Students thrive in a culture of mutual respect, increased freedom, and high expectations. More students progress to university from NSFC than from any provider in the region, with over 450 students gaining places each year. 

The college is based in a purpose built Sixth Form College offering a university style learning environment. NSFC is the only dedicated Sixth Form College in Newcastle, and is the most popular choice for A-levels in the city.

Across the region, young people travel from as far as Berwick and Teesside to study at the college. They choose to do so not just because of the world class facilities and wide range of subject choices, but most importantly because of the inspirational teaching, guidance and support.

West Lancashire College

Based in the heart of West Lancashire, the further education college operates across two main sites; the Skelmersdale campus – housed in a state of the art £42.8m facility – and the £2.3m purpose-built West Lancashire Construction Academy (also in Skelmersdale).

Offering full and part-time day and evening courses, apprenticeships for all ages and a range of industry standard training, the College works with over 3,500 further and higher education and work-based students, as well as more than 1,000 employers.

Lewisham College

The College has two campuses in Lewisham – on Lewisham Way and at Deptford Bridge. The main campus is Lewisham Way – with a wide range of courses available for both full time, part time, evening and short course learners. The Deptford Bridge campus specialises in construction and the construction trades.
