Unlocking potential through learning
NCG is one of the largest providers of further education and training in the sector, with national reach delivered through seven colleges in the North, the Midlands and London. We are determined to provide the best opportunities for our young people, apprentices and adult learners and in doing so provide demonstrable value to the communities and employer partners we serve.
NCG works with over 40,000 learners and has partnerships with thousands of businesses, a turnover of c£160m and more than 2,500 staff.
The opportunities to be realised at NCG are immense and we are now starting to unlock the true potential of the Group to innovate in teaching and learning for the benefit of our learners through the expertise and creativity of our leaders, managers and staff. We want all our colleges to develop their own specialisms supported by excellent IT and student focused systems as well as developing a reputation as an innovator in further and higher education, using our own higher education awarding powers that already extend to masters level.
NCG is an organisation undergoing significant change - the response to a disappointing Ofsted inspection in May 2018 has been swift, robust and inclusive. The post-inspection action plan is already delivering demonstrable benefit to NCG’s teaching and learning communities and it is clear that the Group is committed to doing more to develop our people through our Great Place to Teach and Great Place to Work initiatives.
To be ‘good’, is not ‘good enough’ and NCG now aims to ensure that each college within NCG is at, or is on a clear journey towards, ‘outstanding’ in the medium term future.
It is therefore an exciting time at NCG. We are seeking an inspirational new CEO, with the strategic acumen to lead this large, successful and complex organisation through the next stage of its transition to become one of the very best providers of education and skills in the UK. Our new leader will be intellectually curious, highly capable in their own field, able to inspire and empower the leaders, managers and staff of NCG, and will have the organisational skills to ensure NCG delivers its purpose for our learners, employees and external partners. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate expertise in education and training, should have experience of working within a complex, multi-site organisation and be able to operate in a manner that embodies the NCG values.
NCG is proud of its successful record of accomplishment in transformational change, its commitment to unlocking the potential of learners and our inclusive approach to everything we do.
This is a high profile and hugely exciting opportunity for an inspirational individual to lead one of the largest College Groups in the UK with huge potential to realise benefits for learners, businesses and the broader education sector.
